This is my successful application for the distinction of Associateship to The Royal Photographic Society in the UK. The required project with 15 images had to be presented with a "Statement of Intent". This is my statement:
"The Norwegian Opera and Ballet building appears to rise out of the Oslo Fjord. Its most characteristic outdoor feature is the inclined ramp allowing the public direct access to the roof with its panoramic views of city and fjord. Some visitors are in a hurry, anxious to get back to their cruise ship on time; others are more relaxed, content to soak up the last rays of the evening sun, taking a “selfie” perhaps, or a romantic stroll in the twilight.
The ever changing light reflects on the glass, the marble, the white aluminium and the people. It is almost as if a strange symbiosis takes place between this unique architectural landscape and its admirers.
I have been here countless times in all weathers, in all seasons and at all hours, pursuing my intention to capture the interplay between the landscape and the light, the people and the place".
